Bang Bang Cafe, Phibsborough

Based in Bang Bang cafe in Phibsborough in 2018, this was a group developed in partnership with Dr. Austin O’Carroll, a local GP working in addiction and homelessness. The group consisted of local residents of the Phibsborough community, including artists, activists, academics, journalists and others. Meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings in person until COVID hit and the group moved online and continued with 8 week programs of weekly philosophical dialogue throughout the pandemic.

Key Aim

  • Create a local philosophical community to generate discussion among diverse group of residents in the Phibsborough/Stoneybatter area.
